Law and Society explores various aspects of the law. It coordinates with various national and international organizations to carry out socio-legal studies for the development and reform of necessary legislation, policy and programs.
Law and Society Pvt. Ltd. was established in 2004 with the aim to establish and develop Socio-legal laboratory to deal with all kinds of socio-legal problems of the society (Nepal). Law and Society is registered with the Office of Company Registrar, Government of Nepal under the Company Act with the registration number 32076. Similarly it is enlisted with the Inland Revenue Office of the Government of Nepal with PAN No. 301786108. Although it is committed to develop its wide approach in theoretical and empirical understandings of law, it has specially been focusing its activities within the legal sector in the context of common theories of laws for social reform with focus on child protection.
Law and Society has been providing legal advice for different development organizations including INGOs and NGOs in Nepal which covers the registration process, reporting, monitoring and evaluation of projects and programs, visa process for foreigner expatriate and other requirements as per the law of the land. Besides, it provides trainings and workshops; organize seminars to increase public awareness about social reform and social protection. It aims to train and provide a forum for new cadre of Legal professional, Policymakers and Scholars with a hope have a better understanding of child rights with special focus on juvenile justice.
